January 2010 President Letter

Happy New Year, Everyone! Welcome to 2010 - I expect great things for the club this year. We did have our election during the November meeting. The only change is that Lee has stepped down from Vice Presidency - thanks for all you have done for the club Lee! The new vice president is Bob Volkers. Thanks to Rosemary Johnson (Treasurer), Marvin Bennett (Secretary), Betty Hinds (Auction coordinator), and our webmaster extraordinaire Michael Spears. As always, a big thank you to our Editor Jane Volker.

Last month we met at the Preserve on a Saturday for our club Christmas Party. I want to take a moment to thank Clayton for the wonderful talk that he gave on Lake Apopka at our Christmas party last month. I learned a lot about the history of this lake. Also, a big thank you to everyone who came out to the Christmas party.

Daniel Parker will be our guest speaker this month. Daniel will be presenting a talk on box turtles.

On January 23rd we will be going on a field trip with the Suncoast Herp Society to Reptile World Serpentarium in St. Cloud. The cost will be $3.00 per person. If you are interesting in attending please get with me for more details.
